S.4614 - SMART in Schools Act (Introduced in Senate on June 20, 2024)

This bill was introduced in Senate on June 20, 2024. This bill focuses on directing the Secretary of Health and Human Services and the Secretary of Education to coordinate and distribute educational materials and resources regarding artificial intelligence and social media platform impact, and for other purposes. The Secretaries shall create a communications strategy and dissemination plan to disseminate the toolkits containing the educational materials and resources to local educational agencies, schools or education centers, bureau-funded schools, state educational agencies, tribal, state, or local health departments, after-school programs, labor organizations and professional organizations, specialized instructional support personnel, the foster care system for youth living in congregate care, to provide education to individuals, carceral settings supporting juvenile offenders, federally qualified health centers and certified community behavioral health clinics, hospitals, and other entities as determined necessary by the Secretaries.
