H.R.963 - Protecting Social Security Act (Introduced in the House of Representatives on February 4, 2025)

This bill was introduced in the House of Representatives on February 4, 2025. This bill shall require expedited consideration of a bill that addresses the insolvency of the Federal Old-Age and Survivors Insurance Trust Fund or the Federal Disability Insurance Trust Fund in the case that either trust fund becomes insolvent. During any period for which the Commissioner of Social Security certifies that the balance of the Federal Old-Age and Survivors Insurance Trust Fund or the Federal Disability Insurance Trust Fund established under section 201 of such the Social Security Act (42 U.S.C. 401) is insufficient to finance benefit payments under title II of such Act, there shall be appropriated to the insolvent trust fund, on a monthly basis, an amount that is equal to the amount necessary for the Social Security Administration to pay such benefit payments.
