This bill was introduced in the House of Representatives on June 6, 2023. This bill amends title 23 to increase accessible transportation for individuals with disabilities. Section 2(b) of the Americans with Disabilities Act recognized that individuals with disabilities face discrimination when using transportation services and sought to provide ‘‘a clear and comprehensive national mandate for the elimination of discrimination against individuals with disabilities’’. Transportation is a core component of independent living. This bill aims to provide accessible transportation to people with disabilities.
