Kelly Heung, PhD

Program Manager of the Northern California LEND 

Kelly Heung, PhD is the Program Manager for the Northern California Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and Related Disabilities (LEND) training program and part of the Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities (CEDD) team at the UC Davis MIND Institute. She has served as the UC Davis CEDD representative on the USC UCEDD CAC since 2020. She received her PhD in Human Development from the University of California, Davis. Past research interests include regression in autism and the effectiveness of applied behavior analysis on self-stimulatory behaviors. Dr. Heung has been a researcher and project coordinator for various studies at the MIND Institute examining social relationships in school-aged children with autism, the development of speech in nonverbal preschool children, and the epidemiology of autism in California. She is an active volunteer with the Davis Joint Unified School District and sits on several committees including the Davis Parent University, Superintendent All-Advisory Committee, DJUSD Parcel Tax Oversight Committee, two School Site Councils, and is the President of the Davis Schools Foundation.
