This bill was reintroduced by Senator Sheldon Whitehouse in the Senate on February 3, 2026. This bill would require the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) to standardize prior authorization requirements across medicines and services in Medicare Advantage to allow patients to get care sooner and reduce providers’ administrative time.
